Memory.fit vs AthleteData

Memory.fit vs AthleteData: your own AI, or their coach.

AthleteData is an AI coach for endurance athletes that texts you on iMessage, Telegram or WhatsApp, with a cheaper plan that serves your data to Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. Memory.fit has no coach of its own: it gives the AI you already use your training, sleep, body and fuel, your AI writes the plan, targets, meals and session fueling back, and the Memory.fit app shows what it wrote. Both keep Strava out of AI and both can send workouts to a Garmin or COROS.

The difference

Where Memory.fit is different.

  • Your AI does the coaching

Memory.fit has no coach of its own and makes no recommendations. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok Bot, Dots, Muse, Cue or any MCP app reads your data and writes the plan. Switch AIs and your history and plans stay.

  • An app that shows what your AI wrote

Plans, daily targets, meals, drinks and session fuel plans your AI writes appear on Today, Plan and Progress in the Memory.fit app, each marked with who wrote it. AthleteData's MCP plan is described as having no managed plan.

  • Fueling built in

Your AI can set daily fuel and fluid targets, plan meals, log meals from a photo, record sweat tests and write a carbs per hour plan for each session. Memory.fit gives it cited reference numbers to work from, and free fueling tools and race fuel plans on the website.

  • One price for everything

$9 a month or $69 a year, 7 days free. There is no separate coaching tier: every AI you connect gets the same data and the same tools.

Fair is fair

Where AthleteData is strong.

  • More integrations: its integrations page lists 38, including Zwift, TrainerRoad, Hevy, Strong, Concept2, Clue and Flo.
  • A coach that messages you first, on iMessage, Telegram and WhatsApp, with a plan it keeps adjusting.
  • Workouts go to Apple Watch as well as Garmin and COROS.
  • An MCP plan for athletes who only want their data in Claude or ChatGPT, at the same price as Memory.fit.
  • A large library of free tools and guides, and it says more than 30,000 athletes use it.

Choosing

Who should pick which.

Pick Memory.fit if

  • You already pay for Claude, ChatGPT or another AI and want it to coach you with your real data.
  • You want your AI's plan, targets and fueling in one app you can check every morning.
  • Fueling matters to you: carbs per hour, sweat tests, race day.
  • You want to switch AIs, or use two, without starting over.

Pick AthleteData if

  • You want a ready made coach that texts you, without setting up an AI yourself.
  • You want a direct Zwift or TrainerRoad connection today: Memory.fit reads them through intervals.icu or TrainingPeaks for now.
  • You want workouts on an Apple Watch today.

Questions

Memory.fit vs AthleteData: questions.

  • Yes, if what you want is your training data in your own AI. Both connect your devices to Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. The difference is that AthleteData also sells its own coach on messaging apps, while Memory.fit has no coach and gives your AI an app to write plans, targets and fueling into.

  • AthleteData's MCP plan is €69 a year or €9 a month, and its Coaching plan is €33.90 a month, each with a 7 day trial. Memory.fit is $9 a month or $69 a year, 7 days free, the same as AthleteData's MCP plan. Your AI's own subscription is separate for both.

  • Yes. AthleteData says workouts land on Apple Watch, Garmin or COROS. With Memory.fit, the sessions your AI plans go to Garmin, COROS, Suunto and Wahoo, and to your intervals.icu calendar.

  • No. AthleteData says Strava's API terms do not permit serving Strava data to third party AI tools over MCP. Memory.fit shows your Strava activities in its app and never sends them to an AI; your AI reads the same sessions from your watch.

  • You can, but most athletes pick one: both read the same devices and both put your data in your AI. Choose AthleteData for its coach and integrations, Memory.fit for your own AI with an app and fueling built in.
